Veteran's Day

We celebrate Veteran's Day each year with out town... there is a parade and a memoribilia display, plus food and craft booths.....

Our neighbor, Mr. Kenneth, had some of his memorabilia on display....He served in WWII.... His wife, our dear friend Mrs. Lossie, was showing Amelia and Alex the significance of some of the photos....
Amelia was blessed to have her close friend, Hope (who is as fun as her hair), with her for the day....
This was the most interesting thing that was on display, well, to the boys anyway!
The big parade.... well, some of it, and it really isn't big in size.. just big in heart. There are no words needed... just looking at the photos makes me cry with gratitude and pride.... Oh, America... you must remember and look forward!

Thank you for showing Mr. Kenneths display. I enjoyed seeing what he looked like in his younger days! Love the last pic too!

Thank you for sharing those pictures. They were beautiful (well, apart from the toilet paper!)

Here in Australia we have Anzac Day on April 25 where we commemorate veterans and those who died in wars with parades and Anzac services.

We also have Remembrance Day on Nov 11 (11/11) where we have one minute's silence at 11 am. This commemorates the end of WWI on 11/11/1918. Last weekend we were on a scout camp and had our minute's silence with the scouts on the beach, listening to the waves crash on the shore. Very moving.

PS I love Judy Garland!
