Civil Air Patrol Cadets Receive Promotion

Cadets Marcos Manriquez and Dalton Beamer, both cadet members of the Civil Air Patrol, were promoted at the squadron’s regular weekly meeting last Tuesday to the rank of Cadet Airman. .......In order to receive the promotions Cadets Manriquez and Beamer successfully completed a comprehensive written exam on leadership as well as a comprehensive physical fitness exam. As part of their promotion, Cadets Beamer and Manriquez will also receive the General John F. Curry ribbon, named after Civil Air Patrol’s first Commander. The Civil Air Patrol is the civilian, volunteer auxiliary of the United States Air Force, and was formed December 1, 1941 just before America’s entry into World War II. Today, the Civil Air Patrol conducts search missions for missing aircraft and persons, provides emergency disaster relief in conjunction with other relief organizations, and encourages and fosters civil aviation in local communities through adult and youth aerospace education programs.
